grace317 ::: Favorites i don't see what's bad about public grooming, really. if my companions haven't finished dining and i have and my lip gloss has worn off, what's wrong with a touch up? anyway, i like seeing others put on make up, and it ensures they don't waste time. (eg working class women who wake up late and curl their lashes on the subway) 07-10-02 08:24:58 __________________________________________________
Beautybasics ::: Favorites Well if you look at the quality of those girls and then you look at the things they do, the two go hand in hand. 07-09-23 13:38:11 __________________________________________________
jellymill ::: Favorites I agree! In 9th grade so many girls used to do their full makeup in first period while the teacher was talking. One day we had a sub and he was one of those traditional, old-fashioned types, very well dressed man and man, he gave it to those girls. That's all we heard about the whole period. It was sooooo funny but of course arrogant little 9th graders will never listen. They just called him names and kept up their trashy practice of "hairspraying" and "lipsticking" themselves up in class :P 07-09-22 16:30:48 __________________________________________________
Beautybasics ::: Favorites No, I should have been more clear about that. If you're in a public place with a lot of people, it's impolite to be sitting there doing your makeup and brushing your hair. This is mostly for sanitary reasons but going to the bathroom to freshen up is completely acceptable, I think that's why they called it the powder room. 07-08-26 01:51:23 __________________________________________________
pinkkizzez120 ::: Favorites I disagree with the comment towards not putting makeup on in public. Now if you're trying to say "Don't put makeup on unless you're in the restroom," then that's understandable. Though, females do want to look good through out the day, which requires a little freshening up. And that's where fixing the hair/makeup comes in (in the restroom.) Everything else I agree with. Especially the nails and feet comment! 07-08-25 19:48:56 __________________________________________________

Beautybasics ::: Favorites Actually, the 19th century had many conveniences like running water in bathrooms. It was just that not everybody had them. I'm speaking more specifically on the attention given to etiquette in those days. During that time, people placed higher value on acting civilized and having a higher sense of virtue and manners. 07-08-13 01:03:07 __________________________________________________
jkzupin ::: Favorites Why? There were no bathrooms. I like the present day much better. 07-08-12 21:58:54 __________________________________________________
Beautybasics ::: Favorites If I had it my way, it'd be the 1850's... 07-08-12 20:55:32 __________________________________________________
