Description: The foundation stone of Valletta was laid by the Grandmaster of the Order of Saint John, Jean Parisot de la Valette, on 28 March 1566; The Order was the long-time ruler of Malta. Valletta boasts many buildings from the 16th century and onwards, but most of them were built during the time of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem (the Knights Hospitaller, or Knights of Malta). |

| Lunavira ::: Favorites 2007-08-10 07:04:21 well im Maltese and what i can tell you is we have some excellent hotels... also crappy ones but obviously you get what you pay for.... so if you go for a three star hotel dont expect luxuries... this is the usual problem and also you cannot compare stars like for example... a 5 star hotel in the uk is actually not a 5 star hotel in Malta is actually a 4 star superior... makes a difference but people dont seem to notice __________________________________________________ | |
