Song: Arrivals/Departures by Vox Vermillion Source for Roman Law: Roman Constitutional Law by Theodor Mommsen I'm not fully sure what I believe but I disagree with g0at on this. Here's my reasoning. I'm not trying to convert anyone as I am a sort of a Christian Anarchist. As for the gnostic gospels, there is more to their exclusion than Jesus' complete forgiveness. One account has Jesus laughing on the cross to assert his divinity whereas Christian thought integrates his divinity and humanity. There are other factors and Biblic interpretation is nigh impossible. I realize Nietzche's opposition to Christianity, but I agree with his statement "There was only one Christian, and he died on the cross". The rest of us absurdly attempt. I'm not one to get Biblic on these issues to the difficulties of interpretation, but I do not believe in an "all or none" dichotomy where I have to retreat from interpretation or give in completely. All verses are from the New American Bible translation. My own thought on that interpretation follows Søren Kierkegaard's model of the Knight of Faith that he allegorized in Fear and Trembling. Jesus may have died with complete knowledge of internalizing the sins of the world and suffering in Hell ad infinitum. However, He had faith that somehow God would ultimately prevail and He would be reunited with God.

What does this have to do with why jesus, according to most christians, only had to spend 3 days in hell if he took our sins on to himself. Shouldn't he be there forever then? But hey there are christians who don't even believe in hell...
